What does the art of Elemental Ritual Living truly mean?

Writer: Yasmine KhanYasmine Khan

Life is all Energy...

Thoughts are Energy in potential. Form is Energy in substance. Movement is Energy in motion.

When we begin to think of our lives and the world around us in terms of the deep archetypal, elemental energies that govern our interpretation and navigation of our world, and begin to understand that there are certain energetic principles that we can harness to enhance our vitality of spirit and to live lives of deep connection and meaning: Then we can begin to fulfil our innate and potential to be divine creators of our own reality.

The elemental principles of energy can be understood, mastered and integrated into our lives to create a life of true potential, deep connection and mystical beauty, making ritual living part of everyday living.

The 7 Ancient Hermetic Principles govern the architecture of energy itself, whereas our consciousness allows us to navigate and apply these principles within that architecture to create lives of abundance and meaning.

The elements of Air (thought - to know), Fire (spirit - to will), Water (emotion - to believe) and Earth (action - to dare) are all critical components of any manifestation or reality creation practice. Understanding these principles allows us to understand the mechanisms of the universe on a deeper level, one where we have agency within to enact our desires into reality.

Simple but powerful mechanisms such as the use of breath-work, our choice of conscious language intention and thought, and conscious action can fundamentally change the vibration and frequency of our daily lives to enhance and enrich our way of being. These principles are fundamental.

In blending these principles into our class offerings, we hope to gently teach and encourage our student circle to incorporate these principles into their daily lives and to feel more connected, conscious and aware of the unique creative potential that they bring...

Weekly Practice:

Observe your thoughts and ask yourself 'Do my thoughts serve my highest purpose and enhance my overall wellbeing?'

You can observe your thoughts through a variety of means such as free journalling, meditating, recording your thoughts as they arise, recognising when someone says something that you also believe. Try to pause and really listen to the words that you are speaking to yourself and others.

Are they kind? Are they gracious? Are they judgmental? Do they subtly imply something that is less than positive or empowering? What other words can I choose for myself (and others) to empower and recognise my innate and wonderful potential?

Technique:

Write down all your thoughts and practice substituting less than positive language for positive language.

For example: 'I am not beautiful'

Replace with: 'I am vibrant, charismatic and kind. My inner light shines for all to see'

Practice speaking to yourself kindly, several times as day - even if it is uncomfortable, even if you resist. Each time an unfavourable thought arises, choose to replace it with the new thought. Keep practicing daily for 33-days and you will find a change will begin to emerge within you.
