Shedding and Releasing....The Alchemy of Transformation

The Alchemy of Transformation

I have had cause of late to shed things in my life that were seemingly important to me at the time.

Too important in many respects, I had weighted them, I had elevated them, I had kept them so close that loss of them was almost incomprehensible. I had attached myself to these things in ways that I should not have; and then all at once they went away. Some deliberately and consciously, some without expectation or intent, some painfully, some gracefully.

All different, but gone nonetheless.

In moments of great change, through the darkness we are called upon to find the light within ourselves, the dawn of the new self. To do this, we must first allow ourselves the space to release that which is no longer in service to us and to transform inwardly to a space of acceptance and understanding, as we must, in our own way. To Allow.

I allow myself to watch the leaves on the trees fall, to allow the beauty of the empty grey-blue skies fill my heart with all the awe and wonder of the universe.

I allow myself to see the great lessons in all the shedding that had occurred, and to therefore convert them, to alchemise them into the power of knowledge.

I allow myself to see the space that has now been created within my life, for new things to blossom and bloom. I honour the blessing of abundance and the never-ending dawn of surprises and joys that make their way to me, after a long night.

Taking Control

True personal power and sovereignty comes from the act of conscious transformation. In this season we are asked to consider:

  • What thoughts and beliefs am I holding onto that no longer serve me?

  • Is there a habit or practice that is not aiding my highest good that I can let go of?

  • How can my breath and body-work aid me in letting go, and in allowing me to make space for the new?

  • What have I gained and learned from those things that I now consciously choose to release? How can I use this knowledge to aid my journey forward and the choices I make.

Practice:

Write down one to three things, beliefs, practices, habits that are no longer serving your interests and state why this is so.

Write down something positive that you have learned from the thing that you are releasing and thank it for that lesson. (e.g. setting boundaries, clarity on what you do want in life, the technical skills you gained, the money you earned).

Write down one to three things, that you would like to call into your life that would serve your highest interest and state your gratitude for those things being already present in your life (whether you see it or not).

Light a candle and burn the first page. Consciously state 'I release these things from my life consciously and with grace to allow space for the new'. You might like to imagine these things floating away in balloons in the wind, or upon the water like small paper boats. Whatever visualisation works for you.

Keep the second page with you as a reminder and every time you see something (a sign) that reminds you of what you would like to call into your life (such as lovers holding hands, your dream car, etc), bless what you are witnessing, knowing that it is a sign that what you desire is coming your way.

*Side note - if in doubt, just burn a lot of sage....burn everything.

Love and light x

Yasmine
